Bahia Honda Bridge
The Bahia Honda Bridge was one of the greatest challenges to Henry Flager's. Spanning the Bahia Honda channel, it had to cross water thirty feet deep. Steel spans, resting on concrete piers supported the railway bed of the 5,055 foot long bridge.
After the hurricane, the road was placed on top of the span to allow enough width for two lanes of traffic.
The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
